“The baby boy was assessed and found to have sustained a serious head injury.”
The body of a newborn baby was found at a Mooiplaas landfill site in Centurion on Tuesday morning.
ER24 medics were called to the scene after being alerted by a local security company, according to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“Paramedics arrived at the landfill site at 11:27 where they were taken to the body,” Meiring said.
“The baby boy was assessed and found to have sustained a serious head injury.”
“He showed no signs of life.”
The baby was declared dead at the scene.
“The details surrounding the incident are unknown but authorities were investigating.”
