At approximately 15:35 on Thursday, 16 July, I received a call from Matt of Missing SA regarding an 18-year-old female who had been reported missing. I was requested to proceed to Brits Police Station to assist in confirming whether the young woman at the station was the individual who had been reported missing.
Upon arrival, her identity was confirmed. While on my way to the station, I remained in contact with the family and met them at the police station together with the relevant SAPS members handling the case. The necessary statements were taken, and it was decided that a J88 medical examination would be conducted as part of the investigation. Thankfully, everything was in order, and there were no signs of anything out of the ordinary.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who shared the missing person alert and assisted in the search. Your support played an important role. A special thank you to Monitor Net Security for escorting me and ensuring that I arrived safely at the Brits Police Station. Your professionalism, support, and commitment to community safety are greatly appreciated.
Most importantly, I am grateful to confirm that she has been found safe and reunited with her family. It was an honour to serve as the Chaplain in Brits, North West, walking alongside the family during this difficult time, providing emotional and spiritual support throughout the incident.
