An intelligence-led operation on 27 August 2026 resulted in the detention of two suspects and the recovery of a silver BMW believed to have been linked to multiple theft-related incidents. Following the receipt of intelligence regarding the vehicle, operational teams conducted further information gathering and analysis. The intelligence established that the vehicle was travelling through the CBD area in the direction of Valhalla Centurion.
In response, operational teams were strategically positioned at key points along the vehicle’s anticipated route, preparing to intercept the vehicle safely and effectively. Shortly thereafter, operational members obtained visual confirmation of the silver BMW and successfully executed a takedown operation.
Two suspects were detained at the scene. The vehicle was subsequently confirmed to have been used in the commission of crime and was recovered for further investigation. It was thereafter processed by LCRC for evidential purposes as the investigation continues.
