An armed robbery that occurred yesterday Wednesday, 11 February 2026, in the Silverton area led to a dramatic high-speed pursuit and subsequent shootout, culminating in the arrest of suspects near Centurion. Following reports of the armed robbery, multiple response units were immediately dispatched. The suspects were soon identified and spotted travelling on the N1 highway. Members coordinated swiftly and initiated pursuit as the suspects attempted to evade arrest at high speed.

The chase continued towards the Louwlardia area, where authorities successfully brought the vehicle to a stop. Upon confrontation, a shootout ensued between responding members and the suspects. Three suspects sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange. Two were stabilised on scene and transported to hospital for medical treatment. One suspect succumbed to injuries at the scene. A fourth suspect was arrested on site without injury.

Authorities recovered two firearms and multiple items of stolen stock believed to be linked to the robbery. All relevant emergency and law enforcement authorities attended the scene, ensuring the area was secured and procedures were followed accordingly.
