LIGHTHOUSE —the first U -Turn Homeless Service Centre in Pretoria!

 

Sheila Nelson one of Monitor Representatives handing over our contributions of sanitary pads to Herman Steynberg ,Founder and head of Lighthouse U-Turn Homeless Centre in Pretoria. Thank you every Monitor Net employee who contributed towards this great initiative. Monitor Net also volunteered to be the security provider to the service centre. Making a difference in our community is vital to change.

MORE ABOUT U -TURN HOMELESS SERVICE CENTRE IN PRETORIA!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of LIGHTHOUSE —the first U -Turn Homeless Service Centre in Pretoria! This is not just another program—it’s different, it’s significant, and most importantly, it works! With an 85% success rate, homeless individuals who journey through our four-phase program achieve lasting independence, staying off the streets for good.

Two key pillars of this success are:

  • The Voucher System (Phase 1) – Focused on Change Readiness, this system empowers individuals to make better, smarter choices. Participants
    earn vouchers by working, which they can redeem for essential needs like food, clothing, showers, and safe shelter—restoring dignity and responsibility.
  • Work Readiness (Phase 3) – In this phase, participants gain on-the-job training at U-Turn Social Enterprises while also attending our Personal Development Centre weekly, equipping them for sustainable employment.
